Robert (Bob) Ginsburg the founder of the CSL passed in July 2017. In his honor, the University of Miami is establishing the Robert N. Ginsburg Chair in Marine Geology. 

On January 10, 11, and 12, 2019 the University of Miami is holding a symposium/dinner/field trips to honor Bob at RSMAS.
