This year’s CSL field trip to Belize reef systems was led by Gregor P. Eberli and Donald F. McNeill and featured the dissertation research of PhD student Noelle J. Van Ee.
The field trip was preceded by a core workshop that was open to all meeting attendees. Field trip stops covered a wide transect across the Belize margin and included accretionary beach ridges, rhomboid shoals, the barrier reef, and an offshore platform. After studying the Pleistocene facies in the core workshop, industrial participants were able to get up close and personal to carbonate sediment producers and reef morphologies. The trip culminated in an aerial overview of all the reef systems visited.
